Our Pastor: Justin R. Schmidt
Marion and I have been married for 16 years. We have 4 children, our adopted daughter Amanda who is an adult, Wolfram 13, Lilia 11, and Augustine 9.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA but have lived in Toronto, Canada, Virginia, Michigan, Missouri, Wyoming, North Dakota and now Illinois.
I studied at Virginia Tech University for a year before transferring to Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI where I earned a BS in Biblical Studies. It is there where I met Marion, who was studying Elementary Education. Following graduation I attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO where I earned my Masters of Divinity. After Marion graduated, we were married in 1999 and lived in St. Louis while I continued to attend Seminary. During this time we lived in Gillette, Wyoming for the year of my Vicarage.
I received my first call in 2002 to a dual parish in Devil’s Lake and Lakota, ND. During our 6.5 years in ND I served as a Chaplin in the ND National Guard in conjunction with parish ministry, followed by a year of full time Chaplin service.
In 2008 we moved to Thomasboro, IL where I served as parish pastor at Peace Lutheran Church and Pre-School.
In 2011 I took a secular job as a Long Gun Production Manager at Altamont Company in Thomasboro, IL. I remained active in my ministry by serving churches in central IL by providing pulpit supply. During this time I became Assistant Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osman, IL and still continued to provide regular pulpit supply at Faith Lutheran Church in Monticello and surrounding LC-MS congregations.
I have been serving at Christ and St. Luke Lutheran Churches since April 2013.
